The Los Angeles Chapter awards Student Travel Grants to two biennial conferences: the ACS International Conference and the Society for Marine Mammalogy Conference.

The American Cetacean Society’s International Conference is a three-day conference attended by hundreds of scientists, citizen scientists, cetacean enthusiasts as well as students from all over the world. All qualified students will be considered including international students attending accredited educational institutions. This international conference is typically held in November in California during even numbered years.

The Society for Marine Mammalogy Conference is attended by thousands of scientists and researchers from around the globe. This four-day international biennial conference typically is held in December in odd numbered years. The Conference location changes each time and has been held on nearly every continent.
